Working like mad

Its 5Am here at Copenhagen and me and my pal Jorge are still working (since 2PM) in finishing the project for next wednesday or thursday. We have to do the report and still fix some bugs, mainly in the maps ( that i do it myself), but we are really near the end. Im really happy of the work ive produce, although its been in an old engine as Half-life. And im also proud of what we are reporting to the external examinator, cause i never though i could write so clearly in english and at this speed.

Im right now exposing how i developed the maps, explaining how mapping for HL works, compiling some maps, adjusting the scripting to make it work, and im happy. 15 hours working today and i absolutely love it, now i an truly sure i want to work in this for the rest of my life. Level design and development is what i love above everthing else except, of course, love & sex, but as i dont have neither of both right now available, im putting all my efforts in the project.

I cant really imagine what degree we will recieve for this, but im pretty self confident in our posibilities, but you never know. All our work will be decided by the report we handle in, and its somehow difficult to explain everything you've done in the editor, how you created the maps, the lighting, the enemies, the scripting (btw scripting is really hard and time consuming, OMG). Please god dont let all this suffering and efforts be wasted.

In two or three days this will be finished and ill be free to map again for HL2 or Far Cry, to make a good portafolio, and to contact some companies. Im glad i choosed this direction in my life, that's for sure.

bye and thx.

Half-Life Last breath going wild!!

Mmmm some screenshots to show of the old Hl game engine with the latests pics of my Bachellor project here at Copenhagen. We are about to finish, i just need to implement enemies and some scripting. Arquitecture is finished and lighting just needs a good compilation and some tweaks.

Just enjoy.

Project finishing

Im under huge pressure right now. In 7 days im delivering my final bachelor project here at DTU Copenhagen University. Its been 5 months of work, including design, concept art, development and learning of some tools. Ive still got alot of documentation to write about how we achieved to create this Half-life single player modification (small one). From the script to the 3D world, wow, it blowing me away.

Me and my friend Jorge (who has done all the modelling and animation for weapons & enemies) are stressed, but we do like what we are doing. Its been really funny to create a story based in the HL universe, to develop the maps & models, and to draw the concept art (im not that good drawing). Still, i think we've achieved to develop a first-class modification (although too short) for the HL engine.

Just ranting, im stressed and tired.

Oh, i will show pictures of the maps when i finish them.

bLuEMaN´S bLoG up and running

Hi everyone, not that i expect anyone reading this today but maybe in the future.

This will be the place i, Jordi Carazo Lerma, best known as bLuEMaN in the Half-Life mod community, will talk about my personal feelings and thoughts on everything that has to do with videogames and specially with level design (which i love).

I have a portafolio on another part of the net but right now its unavailable, but ill post a link as soon as its working.

Ok then, im done for today.

ciao.
