New screenshots
De_Imperial, that's the name for the new CS:S map ive working on. Ill be having daily playtests with workmates and then will take the feedback, change it accordingly and later on vacations finish all the details, from decals and model work to custom textures and lighting. Hope to have it finished and released for early January.

PD: More maps in the works :)

Testing the map
Been testing the "office" map. Using the bots and change the map to cs hostage style. Its been finished (gameplay no detail) pretty quickly, changed the layout last friday and now the numbers for the combat areas choke points are looking better. Hope to have it playtested with my workmates this week so i can finish the detail during christmas.

Going for an office!!
Last week i decided to start a counterstrike map using cs_office texture set. I really like this map but i wanted to create something with only interiors but mixing big and tight areas. Some in-progress screenshots below.
About the other maps, i have them there waiting, although they've helped alot in making me remember how the source engine works, and to start understanding the "new" input/output system, the props characteristics, but not enough to be something id wish to release.

Remember, this is "in-progress" screenshots, no lighting work, first props draft, etc... (no ceilings :p )

"In progress" map screenshots
Im working on a Single player campaign (maybe 4 or 5 maps) for HL2. Itll be a short game just to show some work with the source engine. A co-worker is helping me with the level design, so here some screenshots (only for visual style purpose).
Right now we are focusing on the level design stuff, maybe we get some programmers or artists around here to help us so we can include some more stuff like new mechanics, weapons, enemies, etc...
More in the future...

Map images!!
Well, finally started working on some Source maps, relearning how the editor now works (compared to my much loved Worldcraft). Ive been helping a friend add details to his map and apart from that, im also doing a map on my own to try props, decals and of course, to know how many more detail i can put in this maps.

Conclusion...
Well, finally got my hands on Gears of War.
Graphics.... amazing, the character models are just great, the animations, well, top noch.
Controls.... ive read that controls are abit difficult sometimes (reviewers say so). I dont totally agree although in the first 30mins its a bit difficult to learn, but once those 30mins are over Marcus just becomes so easy to control it made me panic of its simplicity. Lets see, all movements controlled by one only contextual button. It plays really well and once you learn the possible actions you can perform it becomes as easy as riding a bike to navigate through the environment.
Audio... It feels like a film. It has all this cinematic feeling all over the game, the audio really makes you believe the story, characters, combat, etc...
Cover & shoot... this is more gameplay related but lets say i have been many years waiting for a combat game with such high pace although including cover as a core mechanic. Yes, the game moves around covering through the environment till all enemies are killed, then move to next map. Anyways, its so fast (compare it to GRAW) it feels so real. Everything included in this game lives to support the core combat experience, and thus, the player experience is one of the best ive had in years.
5/5 or 10/10,whatever you prefer. This game IS next-gen.

Gears of war and more
I just cant wait for Gears of War. Yes i know there's too much hype around it, yes i know alot of people have doubts about the controls and the script of the game. I think ive been fortunate to have seen the game running directly in an XBoX360 last E3 with CliffyB presenting it to us live (before they multithreated) and my opinion is that all this talking is just bullshit. This game will start the next-gen race, its impressive, amazing and beautiful. Just wait 35 more days...
Im also expecting other games of course, although i might love that much GoW, other games have also earned my respect (its not that difficult). Look for example at dead rising. Its one of the funniests games ive played lately, and yes,its like any other open world game(GTA, Saints row) just in a commercial center, full of zombies and items to interact with. The thing is it has so much variety and new things to unlock that it virtually can take you months to fully get everything the game offers.

DEAD RISING!!! - also... i bought the xbox 360!!

OMFG!! i just spent 500€ (half my salary) on buying the XBoX 360 with:
- DEAD RISING
- MOTO GP 06
- NINETY NINE NIGHTS
My god, Dead rising is so fucking incredible, its so much fun to kill zombies all day long... And the best thing is that you never get tired if you explore around, as you always find some new item to interact with which makes you stay another 5 minutes. Great game.
99 nights is funny, but its a bit strange for me. I never see myself (my character) when in the middle of a group, so it resumes in jumping around or just pressing random buttons till i kill everyone. I gotta play alot more so i think ill discover more cool stuff along the way.
images? YES
